Multi-Sport Challenge (Sunday)

Multi-Sport Challenge Format

The Multi-Sport Challenge is a relay styled event.

Teams

Each team member completes one leg only.

Pairs

Each member completes two legs each.

Individuals

or ‘Solo’s’ complete all four legs by themselves. Kudos to you, individual competitors!

Kayak - 1st leg

10km

The kayak course will always be set based on the weather. It will always be ~10km, and will consist of 2 laps of a marked course around buoys in Prosser Bay, starting and finishing at the same point on the beach in front of the event village in Orford.

Potential kayak course - weather permitting.

Road Bike - 2nd leg

27.2km | 420m elevation gain

2x laps along Rheban road from the event village to the end of the sealed section of road. It’s a rolling coastal course with a few fun hills, so we’d recommend using a road bike rather than a time trial bike.

Mountain Bike - 3rd leg

15km | ~445 m elevation gain

1x lap on singletrack, 4WD tracks and fire trails, mostly on private property in the hills behind Orford, starting and finishing at the event village. The course is considered a ‘blue/intermediate’ trail. It has no drops or ‘gnarly’ sections. However, some sections can get rocky. Gravel bikes are not suitable for this course.

As the mountain bike is on private property, we won’t be releasing a course map.

Trail Run - 4th Leg

10km | 140m elevation gain

1x return out and back lap along the Orford foreshore trail + East Shelly Beach to an aid station on Spring Beach. Runners will return along the same route to the event village.
